POUM

In his war-time diary entry for 22 March 1942 (Vol. 2 of George Orwell's Collected Essays, Journalism and Letters (1940-1943). Penguin), Orwell refers to the Communist persecution of Serge, and other Trotskyist refugees, in Mexico. However, the footnote also mentions that Serge was the Paris correspondent for the POUM during the Spanish Civil War, yet no mention of this is made in the Wikipedia article. I reckon it is quite a notable detail, but not sure how a passing reference in a footnote qualifies as sufficient reference for Wikipedia. Any comments? Relationship to Nikolai Kibalchich

On this page, Nikolai Kibalchich is identified as a distant relative of Victor Serge, and in Kibalchich's article he is identified as a paternal nephew. This should be verified, and clarified in both articles. — Ineuw talk 03:23, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

(from France) I also came across several contradictory statements but at the present time I feel unable to give a clear answer, based on the only published material. One perhaps could find it in the police or genealogical material in Russia but I ignore if working there is now easy. Another potential interesting source remains the archives of Kazakhstan, because of his permanency in Orenburg from 1933, but I am not sure there ever was in it any information about this close or distant relative... Almost entirely unsourced

This is a major article to be nearly entirely unsourced, with not even general references. Unless there is immediate interest in retroactively adding sources, it looks like it'll need WP:TNT to be rewritten from reliable sources. czar 05:47, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
