Will you please verify your stance on this article? You both nominated the article for deletion as well as contested the deletion that you proposed. If you are a new editor, you might consider requesting assistance from a more experienced user. Ed0Strasse (talk) 20:46, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... the subject appears to meet WP:BIO AND, over the last couple weeks, I have been working with assistance from User:DGG to address any issues of promotional content. The draft version of that article is in my sandbox here. Pending review by another editor and failed speedy deletion request, any editor can move the revised article to the mainspace. Disclosure: I am a freelance writer that has been paid to address promotional content on this article. --Ed0Strasse (talk) 20:42, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I partially rewrote the article for you. This is very unusual for me, because my general attitude toward paid editors is that they should learn how to write properly for Wikipedia, before they ask money for it. As an explanation , of some points, the details of his marathon running a rep perhaps of interest to him and his friends, but not to an encycopedia. His volleyball playing (apparently before entering college) needs to be proven by a reference other than his own interview--a sports or news site. The year is also needed. His career needs to be presented once, and once only. The clearest presentation of the sequence seems to be either the interview in ref 1 or his linkedin page. We only list one social media site--I chose linked in as it seems more detailed, but you could change it to another. We do not make external refs to the web sites of his firms. A succession box when there is not as yet any succession is inappropriate. All the references need to be expanded to show the author, title, name of publication and date accessed,as well as the link--see WP:REFBEGIN
You do not have to answer me, but I would like to know what other wikipedia pages you have worked on, and under what usernames. In particular, have you been involved with the pages for his company? If you do anything further here, please use the same user name, declare the coi, and show that I've taught you something. DGG ( talk ) 01:17, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
DGG, first of all, thank you again for your assistance. I first declared my coi on your talk page when I asked for your help with this article. I completely agree with all of your points and am doing everything I can do to cut the crap out of this article.
When I shared my draft with you, you said "Yes, I do like what you did--it addresses the issues, and is a much more sensible article overall." You then gave me several suggestions about how to improve the draft further. I followed those suggestions and edited the content quite rigorously – perhaps even more rigorously than you have edited the article as it currently stands. I would be grateful if you took a second look at the work I have done in my sandbox here.
I have never edited the Vishal Gondal article or his company's article. I will never directly edit the Gondal article or any other article that I have a conflict of interest with. I'd be happy to talk about this further on another page. Ed0Strasse (talk) 02:44, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
