I found this picture of the brothers: https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/p480x480/482604_467571633321959_1916168554_n.jpg - 91.66.10.198 (talk) 16:48, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Von Blücher Brothers at Crete (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) in 2010 contained an article, (it's now a redirect to the Battle of Crete), which had a reference, that might do to be merged into this unreferenced article. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 12:11, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fallschirmjagers were not Wehrmacht soldiers

[edit]

I've just made the point on the main Fallschirmjagers article that they were a part of the Lufwaffe and not the Wehrmacht. Thus "Their struggle and death are symbolic for the bravery of German Wehrmacht soldiers" is a tad superfluous; I've edited that sentence to read "Their struggle and death are symbolic for the bravery of German soldiers" Henners91 (talk) 14:24, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Of course they were Wehrmacht soldiers, they were just in the Luftwaffe (air forces) as opposed to the Heer (ground forces) or the Kriegsmarine (naval forces). To quote Wikipedia, "The Wehrmacht (German pronunciation: [ˈveːɐ̯maxt] ( listen) (Defence Force)—from German: wehren, to defend and Macht, power, force, cognate to English might) was the unified armed forces of Germany from 1935 to 1946. It consisted of the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force)." The word Wehrmacht is similar to 'armed forces'. 109.156.185.220 (talk) 12:04, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
