Genre

[edit]

Question: Is this perticular song more rock/alt rock or more post-grunge? My problem is that this song is nothng like Nickelbacks "post-grunge" singles or songs in general. That sound can range from Leader of Men to How You Remind Me, to Hero, to even If Everyone Cared. But not this. The basic definition of post-grunge is that its a sub-genre of alt rock and that it has the feel of grunge music (ex. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, early 90s Nickealback and Foo Fighters, ect.) but with a more commercial tone (like Savin' Me; its thick and distorted but mainstream radio-friendly. Where as When We Stand Together is more like a comercial "rock" song. And is nothing of the post-grunge genre according to it's characteristics. I am a long time Nickelback fan and I am just saying that this song is no way have the "feel" of grunge. So I would like either a genre of just "Rock" or "Alternative rock" because that is what it really is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.54.248.168 (talk) 00:51, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with your questioning of the genre, but I am indifferent to all of your reasonings. It's simple. Find a reliable source that declares a genre. Use that. That's all there is to it, really. Sergecross73 msg me 03:23, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Music video

[edit]

The article states "The official video on YouTube gained 37,440,734 views in just 5 days. Which makes it the fastest viewed video on Youtube that had ever reached that level as of to date." To me this smells like original research, and the statement does not cite any sources. I am going to remove it unless a source can be found. 121.45.146.55 (talk) 03:10, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thought this claim was ridiculous, but I was shocked to look it up to see that that "views" number is surprisingly close to to that number. The official video appears to be at 37,036,087 at the time of writing this. See [1]. However, the "fastest viewed ever" type comments would definitely need a source to be added. (Which, if it holds any truth, would probably be easy to find, for the person who wants to include it. Sergecross73 msg me 03:43, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
