Norman Davies
[edit]In his 'The Isles: A History', Norman Davies states that the priory is where "Ninian built the first known stone church in Britain" (Davies, 2000, p.187) in around 397 CE. Perhaps the omission of this fact herein is due to the tendency of English historians to treat Romano-British Christianity as less significant that Celtic Christianity or Saint Augustine in the history of British Christianity. Davies is an esteemed if at times controversial historian, and the fact he alludes to the priory's more ancient history should at the very least, I would suggest, be included herein. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plimfix (talk • contribs) 13:45, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
