Baseless Claim

[edit]

I see no evidence to support this claim.

Morgan's sentence was unusual, since others who had been found guilty of similar crimes (such as the conspirators who took place in the Trujillo plot to assassinate Castro) were sentenced to years in prison, some as little as 3, others as great as 22.

Further it is counter to almost all authoritative sources on the subject. Section removed. Chudogg (talk) 17:28, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictory information

[edit]

In the introduction, Morgan is said to be "rumored" to be a CIA operative. In section 2 "Post-revolution and death", Morgan's status as a CIA asset is presented as fact.

I am particularly curious about Morgan's widow having his US citizenship restored, which would seem to support the CIA status.

I have no particular expertise on Morgan. I just wondered if someone could address the ambiguity.

More information

[edit]

He was one of only two foreign nationals to hold the rank of Comandante in the revolutionary forces? Who was the other one? When did Morgan meet Jack Ruby? Thanks! 91.66.9.248 (talk) 17:30, 7 June 2012 (UTC) Che Guevara was from Argentina. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.244.126 (talk) 02:35, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Cuban" categories

[edit]

I removed a number of categories where Morgan is referred to as "Cuban" as does not seem to fit established pattern, e.g., country of birth--note Che Guevara is categorized as "Argentine". Doprendek (talk) 20:54, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that Morgan was as he seems. Wayward lad, many mistakes, but a vigorous fighter for what he believed. Not any where perfect, but a hero who wanted freedom for the Cuban people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.150.41.38 (talk) 03:34, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Eloy Gutiérrez Menoyo

[edit]

Response to the question above: that Morgan "was one of only two foreign nationals to hold the rank of Comandante in the revolutionary forces?" Eloy Gutiérrez Menoyo (a foreign national) was also a commander in the Second National Front of Escambray. His brother, by the way, was part of the Presidential Palace attack. ovA_165443 (talk) 15:16, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
