Anglo-Saxon Arrogance

[edit]

Why isn't there any mention of the heroic female fighters in Iraq and Afghanistan who gave their lives in the battle against the Bush-Blair aggression? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.36.213.157 (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find an article providing proof of this, then be my guest.

BTW, I would not call suicide bombing heroic.Richco07 (talk) 17:52, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible split

[edit]

Do you think we should split this off into another article specifically for the American military? A great deal of the entries are from the United States and frankly this article is starting to look rather bloated. Asarelah (talk) 02:47, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see that someone has taken my suggestion. I will return to the process of purging the American stuff and making sure it is on Timeline of women in warfare in the United States since 2000 soon, I'm just getting a bit burnt out. Other editors, feel free to help. Asarelah (talk) 17:05, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

I am in the process of adding images to this article to fill it out more. Please bear with me as I make several edits. Asarelah (talk) 15:12, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just finished adding all the usable pictures in the category. If more usable pictures become available, feel free to add them in. Asarelah (talk) 17:10, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Some images are a bit big (all the right half of the page) and do not represent always women in the military or who are actually fighting (or fighted until recently); this is also in opposition to the custom in the previous articles covering the periods before 2000 in which the pictures were smaller and represented women who actually served. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.205.159.114 (talk) 16:36, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware of the sizing issue. I tried to make them all the same size but some of them won't change. And I made them large because there are comparatively few free pictures that can actually be used in this article, (as opposed to portraits of women from hundreds of years ago) and I was trying to fill space. But I suppose they do look unbalanced as large as they are, I guess I'll shrink a few down to make it look more even. Thanks for the input. Asarelah (talk) 16:42, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you don't necessarily need to have served directly to be in those articles. You only need to be directly involved in warfare (as opposed to merely waging it from a distance as a political figure). Asarelah (talk) 16:45, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
