Contested deletion
This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because "notability" is not a criteria for speedy delete. --Davodd (talk) 08:46, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- Please read WP:CSD#A7. It clearly meets the requirements. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 09:28, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- I have read it. Your delete justification does not apply. Due to the following exclusion, as listed in A7
"The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines. The criterion does apply if the claim of significance or importance given is not credible. If the claim's credibility is unclear, you can improve the article yourself, propose deletion, or list the article at articles for deletion."
- Furthermore, it makes the following claims: 1) Pennsylvania company founded in 1830, 2. Oldest manufacturer of outdoor wear in the U.S., 3. outfitted Byrd expedition to Antarctica. Furthermore still, although not required by the Speedy Delete A7 rule, these are all backed up by verifiable reliable sources, including: ABC News, CBS News, The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Los Angeles Times. - Davodd (talk) 10:30, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- Only the second is a credible claim of significance. Still, you did add that before the article was deleted, so I suppose, it will have to be taken to AfD. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 20:10, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

I also object to the deletion due to the notability of Woolrich as a leading American outdoor wear supplier. Steelbeard1 (talk) 14:04, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
