Some sections of this article are clearly copied from http://article.wn.com/view/2011/12/12/It_s_a_rap_for_Zola_as_show_rolls_to_an_end/

This should be removed as potential copywright infringement. --RichardMills65 (talk) 05:08, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't find any material from that link, but I did find text copied from http://www.artlink.co.za/news_article.htm?contentID=1427 and http://www.kultureclashinternational.com/zola.html and have removed it. This is quite a notable artist, but the current article is a real mess—disorganized, poorly written, and full of random unreferenced assertions. Voceditenore (talk) 16:24, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"musician Zola"

[edit]

"Entertainer" suggests a comedian. "musician Zola" is how he is normally referred to in print. In ictu oculi (talk) 05:28, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Zola (entertainer)Zola (musician) – Known to South African TV and newspapers as "musician Zola", the only results for "entertainer Zola" are ghosts of the en.wp article. Relisted. BDD (talk) 23:44, 13 September 2013 (UTC) In ictu oculi (talk) 15:12, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Zola is known as both a singer/musician and an actor. See these Google Books results. It takes quite a bit of weeding out false positives, but the majority of sources refer to both Zola's music and acting careers. "Entertainer" is thus an appropriate umbrella term to use in this case. Choosing "musician" leaves out the notability as actor, and vice-versa. Dohn joe (talk) 18:33, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
WP:AT CRITERIA 2. Naturalness – The title is one that readers are likely to look or search for and that editors would naturally use to link to the article from other articles. Such titles usually convey what the subject is actually called in English.. Sources above demonstrate "musician"; wikt:entertainer means someone who combines multi-facets in one show, such as vaudeville and burlesque. Which is why sources have "the musician Zola" not "the entertainer Zola." This is a neologism in this sense. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:53, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Zola Down and out

[edit]

I will add a section ( which I'm not sure what to call for now) about Zola's current financial state. There are many media reports that he is down and out due to a string of improper public conduct. Moreover we don't hear of him or see him on magazines or media anymore [1]. Bobbyshabangu talk 02:58, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

POV check

[edit]

Parts of the article seem to suffer from plagiarism and tabloid style. I think this holds for the sections "Zola rocking the airwaves" & "Giving back to the community" both in their name and content. Please compare the sources' text with the sections' text. Could the two sections be removed completely? Information on Zola's work as a radio host could be mentioned elsewhere in the article, e.g. together with his work as TV presenter (under a more general heading). --Chip Ahoi (talk) 16:41, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
