Anthony Chenevix-Trench

[edit]

Prince Henry at Eton wearing Eton Suit including "bumfreezer" short jacket

  • ... that Anthony Chenevix-Trench aimed to abolish school uniform completely at Eton, but only succeeded in abolishing the rule requiring smaller boys to wear suits that included a "bumfreezer" (pictured)?
  • ALT1:... that a mouse called Peter had a lucky escape when Anthony Chenevix-Trench, later headmaster at Eton, was about to cane its owner?
  • Reviewed: August Agbola O'Browne
  • Comment: Please use main hook if a lead slot is available, ALT1 otherwise. Main hook fact is at start of fourth paragraph of section "Eton College"; ALT1 hook fact is at start of third paragraph of section "Bradfield College".

  • reviewing......but it's a comprehensive article, so will take a while. SagaciousPhil - Chat 14:01, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Article - excluding quotes, was 4922 characters before expansion started 24 February, it's now 40,675 characters of readable prose excluding quotes, so x8 and definitely long enough; I paid particular attention to check for neutral style/balance as subject deceased in the last 50 years and article previously had a neutrality template - I don't see any problems now; at least one inline citation to every paragraph; no copy vios detected using earwig but main source is offline; assessed as start class.
  • Hook - I've checked both as per nominators request re picture (both are correctly formatted and I feel will draw readers attention);
Main hook with picture - is 200 characters; supported by ref #39 in 'Eton College' section.
ALT1 - is 129 characters; and supported by ref #25 in 'Bradfield College' section.
  • QPQ done; image is US PD.
There is a 'clarification needed' template in the 'Military service' section but not a DYK concern.

Really interesting article. SagaciousPhil - Chat 15:54, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
