Broken Wings (ballet)
- ... that the 2016 ballet Broken Wings is about Mexican painter Frida Kahlo? Source: "The show opens with Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Broken Wings, an impressionistic life story of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo." ([1])
ALT1:... that in Broken Wings, a ballet about Frida Kahlo, the lead dancer's costume is inspired by Kahlo's painting, The Broken Column? Source: "Kahlo’s core costume, for instance, from her "Broken Column"" ([2])ALT2:... that the 2016 one act-ballet about Frida Kahlo, Broken Wings, was later extended to a full-length ballet titled Frida? Source: "Lopez Ochoa is based in Amsterdam and so step forward Ted Brandsen and Dutch National Ballet with the rather unique offer (I can’t think of another) to expand that single act into a full-length ballet." ([3])ALT3:... that the Mexican folk song "La Llorona" was used in the ballet Broken Wings? Source: "Peter Salem’s score with its Hispanic rhythms, marimba, brass and percussion adds Mexican flavour and he borrows a painfully romantic folksong “La Llorona” (“Weeping Woman”)."([4])

- The full review will be to follow, but right now I think only some form of ALT1 is suitable (although I think the fact that Kahlo is a Mexican painter will need to be included too, as I'm not sure if she's recognizable enough to our readerbase); the other suggestions are somewhat more niche. If we are to go with ALT1, it will need to be reworded as the current version doesn't seem to flow very well. Perhaps the mention of the costume could be moved to the start? - Narutolovehinata5 I do agree that ALT2 and ALT3 are niche, and ALT0 is included in case even ALT1 is niche. How about this? ALT4: ... that Mexican painter Frida Kahlo's The Broken Column was the inspiration of a costume in Broken Wings, a ballet about her? Corachow (talk) 12:38, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
- That sounds much better. I'll try to finish the full review by tomorrow but from my initial look at the article no obvious issues came to mind. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:14, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- Article meets DYK article requirements and no close paraphrasing was found. Only ALT4 is approved as the hook that would likely appeal to the broadest audience: it is cited inline and has been verified in the source. QPQ has been done. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:10, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
