Chennai Express
[edit]- ... that Chennai Express opened in the major international markets a day before its Indian release?
Created by Iamnabi (talk). Nominated by Jionpedia (talk) 09:42, 22 September 2013 (UTC).
- This is a fine article. Thank you. I went to look for the hook fact and found five references nearby (too many?), but I couldn't find a place where someone in the references had commented on this day difference in the release. I'm not a Bollywood buff but is this date difference significant? Is there a ref I've missed that comments on this significance? Thanks again Victuallers (talk) 10:36, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- Victuallers, apart from that there are other issues like
- fair use images can't be used for DYK
- also the article was not 5x expanded today (the date it is posted).
- the article was not created by Jion, was by Iamnabi and 1 and a Half years ago
- one copy-vio tag in the Critical reception part which needs to be sorted outSohambanerjee1998 11:58, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
It has to qualify for a x5 expansion to meet DYK Jion.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:52, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- The current way it can get a DYK is 5x expansion but its a daunting task considering the current size - 4217 words, 5x expansion will require another 20,000 odd words which is impossible to add since you won't get that much info on such a masala film even after 20 years, the best you'll get is a staggering BOI collection adjusted for inflation in a country where half the population does'n't get a proper day's meal. End opinion, probably a Sohambanerjee1998 15:18, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ya, it is going to fail, when I saw this nomination, I felt, they are applying in the recent GA slot. The worse thing is the article contains "close paraphrasing". --Tito☸Dutta 17:10, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, alright. Will try to fix the issues and get sources about production for expansion.--Jionpedia ✉ 14:29, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- @Jionpedia: when you come back make sure you have had a 5x expansion! until then I ain't even speaking your name (just a song, humorous content, no offence). Sohambanerjee1998 15:35, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- It might be very very difficult to 5x expand the article. Try GA-DYK slot. Tito☸Dutta 11:47, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- I already expanded the article a bit (63,883 bytes to currently 67,600 bytes). P.S. Where's the GA-DYK slot?----Jionpedia ✉ 11:52, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- No, Prose size (text only): 25 kB (4265 words) "readable prose size", you need to expand article's prose. still 16000 bytes in prose. Frankly speaking, I don't think you'll be able to 5x expand this article. And if you somehow manage to do it, you should be given a dozen barnstar. GA-DYK slot means, newly passed (within 5 days of passing) Good articles are eligible in DYK section. --Tito☸Dutta 11:57, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oh crap, somebody help me!----Jionpedia ✉ 12:13, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- Jion, stay calm as I said earlier this article can never I repeat, never go through 5x expansion. If it does then I'll give you 100 barnstars. Try GA-DYK slot, when you finish the article ask me I'll do it for you. Plus we can try to expand it 5x. Lets give it a shot! Jion a question for you, in your userpage there is a section which states "(NOT the masala films)" which contradicts your rooting for CE, which is a hardcore masala film, isn't it? Will you please enlighten me on it a bit? Sohambanerjee1998 14:19, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- Fix the close paraphrasing issue first. The unfortunate thing is, I forgot I wrote the plot section of the article, so, I can not review it , @Sohambanerjee1998:, want to go for a ₹10,000 (US$120) challenge? It is very very very very difficult, but, I'll 5x expand this article, it needs 20,000 prose characters. --Tito☸Dutta 15:16, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oh pretty tough but lets try, no bets please, Oh and I forgot to tell you Jion I cannot also review it as I have edited the article too. Does SRK really deserves so much attention and coverage? whereas articles for films like The Lunchbox and The Good Road are going unnoticed.
Anice just tried to fix the problem but was a lack lustre attempt. Sohambanerjee1998 11:05, 2 October 2013 (UTC)- Actually, a LOT of critically-acclaimed films (including The Lunchbox) are in my watchlist, and I am looking forward to work on them. I am working on this to keep it protected from rabid vandals.----Jionpedia ✉ 11:16, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
- To be true I have been also meaning to work on them but in India such films don't get much appreciation or spotlight. There is not enough sources. Sohambanerjee1998 09:02, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

- According to DYKcheck, the article has hardly been expanded at all, from 24,936 prose characters to 25,452. If this is the best that can be done in a month, there's no point in continuing this nomination any further. Also, the copyvio template remains, which is extremely serious, yet is still unaddressed. As noted above, the only real chance this article has at DYK is to be cleaned up and successfully listed as a Good Article. Best of luck! BlueMoonset (talk) 17:11, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
