Chennai Super Kings in 2011

[edit]

Created/expanded by Dee03 (talk), Dipankan001 (talk). Nominated by Dipankan001 (talk) at 07:11, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

  • Only one previous DYK I can see so no QPQ required. Article is new enough and long enough.
  • Hook is not properly formatted. That the hooked article is not bolded and appears only at the word BOUGHT strikes me as problematic. Article is not fully supported by inline citations.
  • Note: I have not and will not check for plagiarism until article is fully supported by inline citations. Too much of the article is uncited to make this possible to do well. I have NOT checked for hook accuracy as it needs to be rewritten and so much of the article is uncited. Please fix so review can move on. --LauraHale (talk) 09:07, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Fixed the referencing work. Dipankan (Have a chat?) 09:41, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
I shall propose a new hook. TAP 09:16, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
... that the Chennai Super Kings purchased MS Dhoni for US$1.8 million in the fourth season of Indian Premier League? TAP 09:16, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
  • ALT2 ...that Chennai Super Kings won the 2011 Indian Premier League? ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 09:28, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
    • Vibhijain, that fact is not interesting as it had already been shown in ITN. I support TAP's hook. Dipankan (Have a chat?) 09:35, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
      • The original hook is kinda misleading. CSK took MSD in the 2008 auction for 6 crore Indian rupees. In 2011, 2 news teams were added. It was decided that all players will be re-auctioned. However the original 8 teams were allowed to retain a maximum of 5 players. MI and CSK were the teams who retained 5 of their players, on the condition that they will be allowed to spent maximum 20 crore in the auction, while the teams which didn't retained any player were allowed to spent 40 crore. MSD was one of the 5 players retained by CSK, so the fact that he was "brought" is misleading. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 09:38, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
  • ALT 3... that the Chennai Super Kings retained MS Dhoni for US$1.8 million in the fourth season of Indian Premier League?

I've done a lot of referencing/citation work to the article and added a few books. TAP 16:39, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

This also suggests no. My recollection is DYK does not count if you take existing text and put it into a brand new article. I'm not seeing this copy over credited here. --LauraHale (talk) 21:07, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Text was written on another article. This is pure daughter article copy paste verbatim over from a bigger article. Thus, not eligible. --LauraHale (talk) 21:07, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

I withdraw my nomination. Dipankan (Have a chat?) 11:42, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
