Dándole
[edit]... that Gocho's debut single "Dándole" is an "urban electronic mambo" combining mambo and urban music according to him?

- This seems to be a duplicated nomination? See at the top of 7 February nominations? SagaciousPhil - Chat 19:55, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- I was sure it was something like that, so that's why I didn't post anything on your talk page. I really just commented so the duplicate could be deleted once checked - I had kept scrolling backwards and forwards and wasn't 100% sure I wasn't imagining it. Thanks for sorting it out and apologies for inconvenience caused! SagaciousPhil - Chat 20:27, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Full review still needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:10, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- Article and hook length good, creation date verified, and no problems that I can see. Spanish ref accepted AGF, but the google translation is consistent with the claim. Chamal T•C 03:45, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
- The phrasing of the hook is kind of repetitive.--Carabinieri (talk) 22:16, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

- It basically says that the song is urban and mambo twice.--Carabinieri (talk) 02:35, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- To my knowledge it is bad practice to link articles inside of quotes here on WP, so explaining that it combines mambo and urban music to provide links to these genres is the logical thing to do. — DivaKnockouts 02:46, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think the hook would make much sense if we removed the last part and moved the links to the phrase itself, saying "Dandole is an urban electric mambo". The words need to be repeated to explain it, unless you have something else in mind?. Chamal T•C 07:27, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- The hook is unfortunately clunky: not only is there duplication, but "according to him" doesn't work well. I'm also made uncomfortable by some close paraphrasing of FN6, which has the phrase "una fabulosa combinación de ritmos mezclando el mambo con sonidos de música urbana" which Google Translate renders as "a fabulous combination of mixing the mambo rhythms with urban music sounds", which is quite similar to the Composition section's "combining mambo rhythms with the sounds of urban music". BlueMoonset (talk) 08:13, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- I believe that line in the article attempts to translate something he said from the original source (which is not a quote per se because of the difference in languages), so I'd expect some similarities. Also, I don't pretend to be an expert on this, but I doubt that similarities to a machine-generated translation of a foreign language source count as plagiarism or copyright violation (unless your concern is about the "new content" rule). Perhaps this will avoid the issues with the hook? The article issues mentioned by BlueMoonset still have to be resolved, obviously
- ALT1 ... that Gocho described his debut single "Dándole" as a combination of mambo and urban music?
Chamal T•C 09:03, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- New reviewer needed to see whether all the issues have been addressed, and to review ALT1. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:42, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
- The fair use audio sample (File:Gocho - Dandole.ogg) is longer than 1/10 of the song and needs to be cut to 24 seconds or less. Gobōnobō + c 00:45, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
