New enough, expanded enough. AGF re: reliability and close paraphrasing, since most of the sources are in Spanish and I can't check. I know the nominator well enough to trust that all is good. Hook good. Interesting; glad to see that work is continuing for disabled Olympic athletes. Good to go. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Figureskatingfan (talk • contribs) 23:34, December 23, 2013 (UTC)
- Given the number of issues that have been found in other articles in this series, I cannot be as trusting as Figureskatingfan. Indeed, a quick glance finds a number of minor errors and missing information that leaves me far less confident; I would like to see a more comprehensive review once these have been addressed. Issues include wikilinking to the city of A Coruña rather than the province (he was born in the latter; I have fixed this one), a claim that he "continues" to live in Galicia in 2012 and 2013 based on his birth and a couple of contemporaneous sources—"continues" is generally interpreted as meaning there was continuity between birth and the present day. The sourced birthdate in FN3 does not match the article's, and the opening of the "Wheelchair basketball" section gives a new name for him, "Costas", which (if accurate) should be included somewhere else sooner. Unaccountably, the opening of the Club section, while claiming that he spent most of this time with Vigo, doesn't say when he joined the club (indeed, there's nothing about when he started playing the sport!), and the entire tale of his departure from Vigo is oddly described and disjointed, not to mention that there are grammatical issues with the final sentence in that paragraph and the first in the next one. The article needs careful attention from its creator before it can be approved. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:49, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- Nominator/creator was notified on her talk page that issues here and on other DYK nominations had been waiting for over a week and in danger of being closed; she has subsequently made hundreds of edits but none to her DYK noms. Given the many issues noted above, I am closing this nomination as unsuccessful. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:05, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
