[edit]
  • ... that Di Genius had his first riddim hits in Jamaica in 2004, 14 years old?

  • I believe you need a new ALT hook...the current hook is grammatically incorrect and needs to be revised in order for us to continue with the review process. At this stage, it simply doesn't make sense. Proudbolsahye (talk) 07:14, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
  • Thank you for commenting on the hook, pointing out grammar problems. I have suggested two alt hooks below. Oceanh (talk) 08:46, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
  • ALT1:... that riddim composer Di Genius had his first hits in Jamaica in 2004?
  • ALT2:... that riddim composer Di Genius had his first hits in Jamaica in 2004, when he was 14 years old?
ALT1 seems to be boring, but ALT2 looks fine. However, there are some other issues here. The hook is not in the article. It does say Di Genius was in high school, but doesn't state his age at the time. Ref 9 indeed backs up some artists Di Genius worked with, but not all of them. Same thing for the line about who he's collobarated with; not all artists are in the sources. Furthermore, I would like to see his birth date and place properly referenced. —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 16:21, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
  • Hi Amber. I admit I had some trouble writing this article, as I work primarily on historical pages. I've added a few more sources and I think it covers most everything now, but let me know if there are still issues. However, I could not find a citation for Di Genius being 14 in 2004 when he composed his first hit riddim (though he probably was, having a January birthday), and thus I suggest changing the hook slightly to refer to his "Red Bull & Guiness" riddim, which is reliably sourced as being a much bigger "defining" hit and written at age 15. It depends on your definition of a hit record, which is quite arbitrary, especially in a country with no official charts. If I may be so bold, I have appended some suggestions below. —Strachkvas (talk) 18:36, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
  • ALT3:... that riddim composer Di Genius had his first hits in Jamaica in 2004, while still in high school?
  • ALT4:... that riddim composer Di Genius had his first hits in Jamaica in 2005, aged fifteen?
Citations remain a problem with this article. While ALT3 is okay (don't worry about the definition of a hit, if the sources say it's hit, then it is a hit), I'm still wondering where you got Di Genius' date and place of birth. I can't find that information anywhere in the provided sources. Furthermore, the whole discography section is unreferenced. That can't pass like this either. ALT4, by the way, is directly contradicted by the New York Times source, so I'm striking that one.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 10:32, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
I have included a citation for "born 1990" etc. Oceanh (talk) 09:18, 4 May 2013 (UTC) If lack of references for the discography is a problem, the simplest solution is to remove This section (until Sources can be provided).Oceanh (talk) 09:41, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I have removed the unreferenced discography section and updated the reference for this guy's birth date. Someone else now needs to check whether all is truly ready.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 13:19, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Minor point: I've diverted my attention away from this article for the moment, but I noticed in that Facebook bio you cited it does list his full birthdate. If you consider that source reliable then why not use it to add back the full birthdate? —Strachkvas (talk) 20:07, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Such sources are only reliable for trivial information (like birth dates, indeed). But sure, add back his full date of birth if you want.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 20:34, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
  • with ALT3. BTW, this is a really nicely done article: congrats. GA is next. Drmies (talk) 04:13, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
