"The Muslims appear to have made use of a cannon for the first time in warfare in the peninsula in an attack against Huéscar in 1324" (Harvey 1992 p.184) "Moving northeastward [Ismail I] seized Orce, Galera, and Huéscar ... Cannons and gunpowder were used in the attack on Galera, apparently the earliest instance of this in Spain." (O'Callaghan 2011 p. 149).
