The Life and Deeds of the Immortal Vožd Karađorđe
[edit]- ... that The Life and Deeds of the Immortal Vožd Karađorđe (pictured) was the first feature-length motion picture created in Serbia and the Balkans?
Created/expanded by 23 editor (talk). Self nominated at 23:27, 21 September 2013 (UTC).
- 5x expansion verified. New enough, long enough. Foreign-language hook ref AGF. Image is public domain. It appears that the nominator has less than 5 DYKs; if I'm wrong, please submit a QPQ.
- The main issue with this nomination is the matter of close paraphrasing. A quick check of some English-language sources shows close paraphrasing in the Plot summary, which very closely follows (and uses the same words as) Norris, and most of the first sentence under Development, which is lifted straight out of Sudar. I put a few other things that were copied verbatim into quotes, but that's when I decided to stop checking the rest of the English-language sources and leave it to you. As I am unable to check the Serbo-Croatian sources, too, I would like to request that you go over the whole article and rewrite the material in your own words, not copying or following the sentence structure of the references too closely. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 20:03, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
- If there is no way for us to verify that no close paraphrasing is in the article, and online/English sources have been shown to have issues, we should not be passing this article. My two cents. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:54, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- There has been no response here from the nominator, who was pinged at the time—only superficial editing shortly after October 24 that did not come close to addressing the close paraphrasing issues, and the editor has been active doing other editing. Given Crisco's advice, I'm closing this nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:48, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
