  • ... that Sallekhana is a religious practice of voluntarily facing death?
    • ALT1:... that Sallekhana was banned by the Rajasthan High Court for a short period, after which the ban was stayed by the Supreme Court of India?

  • Recent Good article. The article and hook are referenced. I prefer the first since it is simple and sweet. No copyright or neutrality issue detected. QPQ not need since it is this user's first. I am going to veto the use of the image since its caption is way too long for promotion on the main page and needs too much explanation. Otherwise good to go.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 18:53, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

  • The first hook is much better (from the GA reviewer). AIRcorn (talk) 21:48, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Image caption can be shortened to Nishidhi stone commemorating Sallekhana if you wish to include it. And thank you, Capankajsmilyo for nominating.-Nizil (talk) 04:31, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Is there a typo in the first hook? Should it be "voluntarily fasting to death"? Yoninah (talk) 21:52, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
    • ALT2:... that Sallekhana is a religious practice of voluntarily fasting to death?
    • ALT3:... that Sallekhana is a religious practice of voluntary death by fasting?
    • ALT4:... that Sallekhana is a religious death rite by voluntary fasting?
  • @Yoninah: Indeed. "voluntarily fasting to death" is more accurate and what is supported by the sources. Please see 1, 2, 3, etc, Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 19:36, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
