Solomon Asch

[edit]
  • ... that Solomon Asch showed people will agree that two clearly identical lines are unequal in order to conform with the opinion of the majority?

Created/expanded by Marissa1230 (talk). Self nom at 18:37, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

  • This is a genuine x5 expansion, but the hook makes no sense and much of the article is unsourced. DYK requires a minimum of one cite per paragraph except for the intro and other paragraphs which summarize other content. Gatoclass (talk) 11:39, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Thank you! These comments were very helpful! I added citations and changed the hook!

It looks better, but you still have a few uncited paragraphs. If you'd like to fix them, I can probably complete this review. Gatoclass (talk) 08:10, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

I just added a few more, so I think all of the paragraphs have citations now. Thank you again for your help!

The article looks fine now, however there is a difference between "convincing" people that something is the case, and merely getting them to agree that it is, so you may need to rephrase your hook or come up with a new hook. Also, it would seem to make sense to combine this article with your "conformity experiments" article in the one hook if you'd like to do that, but that is up to you and you would of course need to finish the latter article first. Gatoclass (talk) 10:33, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Thank you again for your help. I have not written anything in the conformity experiment article, so I probably will leave this article as independent. However, I have revised the hook.

  • Does the most recent revision fix the problems? BlueMoonset (talk) 07:03, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't have any problems with the article now, I just think the hook could use some improvement. I have been intending to propose an alt hook but for various reasons haven't got around to it yet. I will endeavour to do that over the next few days if someone else doesn't get there first. Gatoclass (talk) 11:07, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- The suggested alt is a little more concise, but both hooks are passable I think. In any case, I have AGF verified this article, it now only needs someone to confirm one or both of the supplied hooks. Gatoclass (talk) 02:16, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I agree with Gatoclass that this 5xexpansion conforms to the DYK criteria. I prefer ALT1 but either would do. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:05, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Great! Thank you both so much! Marissa1230 (talk) 18:30, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
