Overall: Flibirigit (talk) 14:13, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
There is significant close paraphrasing as per the Earwig analysis Areas highlighted in red need to be addressed, except for proper nouns. I am not seeing either hook explicitly discussed within the text of the article. Did I miss something there? Otherwise, this is a good article, that I want to see passed. Flibirigit (talk) 14:13, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Flibirigit: The sources are in the public domain, as they are works of the United States Army, see Template:PD-USGov-Military-Army. the hook is in the article as "Upon the outbreak of World War II, the survey began working in various war capacities. It published a "Submarine Training Chart of Upper Lake Michigan." pamphlet. The Lake Survey, with its cartographic and lithographic specialists, directed a major portion of the military's mapping activity. It took over and consolidated the former WPA cartographic units in New York, Chicago, and Detroit on 1 June 1942. It published 370 tons of maps, producing 8,109 different charts and maps, printing and distributing 9,190,000 copies to the armed forces." ALT1 is in text as "James D. Graham replaced Meade in 1861, and led the survey through much of the Civil War, during which it was the only active topographical field office still operating." - I see the cited information now for the hooks. Sorry, I must not have been awake yesterday morning. As for the copyright concerns, did you mean to refer to Template:PD-notice instead of Template:PD-USGov-Military-Army? Flibirigit (talk) 20:15, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

- Thanks for updating the template. I think some text should be reorganized, or the introduction updated. For example the introduction mentions "76 charts" but I can't find that in the body of the article. Also it seems redundant to mention "New York State Barge Canal System, Lake Champlain and the Minnesota-Ontario Border Lakes" in consecutive paragraphs in the introduction. Flibirigit (talk) 13:53, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- I think this is very close to being finished. I will finish reviewing in the moring. Flibirigit (talk) 00:23, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Eddie891: the introduction mentions the waters on the border of Minnesota and Ontario... but I can't find mention of it later in the article. Am I missing something there? Flibirigit (talk) 14:17, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
- Got it. Eddie891 Talk Work 12:47, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
- This looks good to go now, ALT0 preferred, but either hook is acceptable. Thanks for writing. Flibirigit (talk) 02:09, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
