This template is for use with features in rivers, which includes bridges, islands, locks etc. See examples for this template.
Usage

|type = any text (defaults to crossing)
|thisis = any test (defaults to {{PAGENAME}})

- Items shown with a “#” are required
- |River needs to be capitalised to be compatible with other templates
- |type and |thisis have the defaults shown
- |location only applies to Great Britain
Obsolete templates
[edit]The template is designed as a one line replacement for various templates. It makes the following redundant:
- Template:River item line
- Template:River island start
- Template:River bridge start
Template:River bridge lineTemplate:River item line X- Template:River lock start
Template:River lock line PLTemplate:River lock start PL- Template:River lock line
Template:River succession- Template:River confluence start
Extended table
[edit]It is possible to generate a block of these templates using the option |table=
. The first call uses |table=start
; any middle ones use |table=middle
; and the final one uses |table=end

[edit]Where there is a river junction upstream the options |upstream2 = and |upsub2 = can be used. See examples.
