Advancing of PNG to qualifier Play-off
[edit]We have total of 126 matches making it 252 points to distribute using Finite State Automata System.
Oman has 44(final),
and for best case for PNG, PNG can get 29(at max), and Scotland will get 56(at max) points,
making it at least 123 points among UAE, USA, Nepal, Namibia.
So as per pigeon hole principle, at least one team has to get more than 30 points.
Eliminating PNG to Qualifier Play-off. Kaaryanm (talk) 13:24, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Joseph2302: We got one of those again unfortunately by the same user again. What do you think of it? Human (talk) 13:35, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- Please tell me, if I am wrong, If there is still any change, even a slight chance of PNG qualifying, I will stop editing completely. Tell me any possible combination of results, that will lead to qualification of PNG, I will accept my mistake, and stop any further editing completely. There is no penalty points, there is no deduction in points possible. If you still find and way to qualify PNG, please tell me, or accept the fact that PNG have been disqualified, and the best system(Finite State Automata) will always lead to right answer. - Calculating numbers yourself is original research, which isn't permitted. We should follow what sources say- it's up to the sources to be correct. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:40, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- But shouldn't we verify the sources before posting something wrong Kaaryanm (talk) 12:08, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Verify= yes. Make own research on the numbers = no. There's probably a reason why the ICC don't list them as qualified- maybe because people can lose points and therefore could still be caught? Either way, we need an actual source that says "X has qualified" or "Y is eliminated", rather than people working it out with maths. Joseph2302 (talk) 12:13, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Btw, in league 2 there is no possible way to loose points, and ICC is a bit late in doing these things. Kaaryanm (talk) 12:37, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- That's the ICC's problem not ours. Wikipedia is a tertiary source, and so reports what other reliable sources report, not what we believe to be true. Joseph2302 (talk) 13:06, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Tie-breakers
[edit]To be clear, the first tie-breaker is total wins, followed by H2H record, and only then net run rate. The table has been sorted by NRR throughout, but in terms of qualification at the end of tournament, it is number of wins. Can't find the source for this now (there was something confirming that the UAE were out of contention at the point when they could only finished equal third), but it is consistent with ICC tournaments has been confirmed by various individuals in the know. Hopefully there won't be any ties by the end anyway. Bs1jac (talk) 14:20, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
