"Words by" -> "Words:"
[edit]May I propose a change in the wording of this template? Currently it displays:
- Music by A Composer
- Words by An Author
But many hymns are not as simple as this. Often the words (or music) will have been through two or more revisions, and the original may be unattributable, often "traditional". The phrase "Words by" ("Music by") does not flow well into such a description, for instance in the current version of Amazing Grace whose "Music by" currently displays:
- Music by trad. arr. William Walker
By simply changing the template from "Words by" to "Words:" (similarly "Music by" to "Music:") the flow becomes more natural:
- Music: trad. arr. William Walker
- Words: John Newton
I propose doing this soon, unless there is reason not to do so. Feline Hymnic (talk) 14:27, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Colour
[edit]I've lightened the background colour a little, to make the contrast between that and blue links pass WCAG accessibility guidelines. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:06, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
Missing
[edit]I use this template for the first time and would like a few additional features:
- an image, with size, alt, and caption
- in case of a foreign hymn, room for the English title
- an audio sample

No merge needed
[edit]Only two hymns use this template, I Surrender All and 'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, - change them to previous versions, then no merge of parameters will be necessary. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:53, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
