Announcement

[edit]

In February 2024, during the announcement of his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Vijay had revealed that he would be quitting the film industry after two more films to invest more time in politics.[6][7] His penultimate film, The Greatest Of All Time, released worldwide on 5 September 2024 to mixed reviews.

There were several rumors about Vijay's final project, including that it could be a sequel to his commercially successful film Leo, since its director Lokesh Kanagaraj had expressed the same interest.[8][9] These rumors were debunked when H. Vinoth was confirmed as the director for Thalapathy 69.[10][11] KVN Productions unveiled a poster on 14 September 2024 on the social media platform X, in which the producer, co-producers as well as the music director was announced. The film was scheduled for an October 2025 release.[12]

Music

[edit]

The music and background score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, in his fifth collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi (2014), Master (2021), Beast (2022), Leo (2023) and in his first collaboration with H. Vinoth.[13]
