Thomas Hodgson is an English musician and ethnomusicologist,[3] who studies algorithms and AI in global contexts, with a particular focus on Pakistan and the Pakistani diaspora.[4] Previously a British Academy Fellow at King's College, London, Hodgson is currently Assistant Professor Of Musicology & Music Industry at UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music,[5][6] and performs trumpet & percussion with Stornoway (band),[7][8] in addition to frequent collaborations with composer Edward Nesbit.[9] Hodgson has taught at Lady Margaret Hall and Magdalen College, Oxford.
