Colonel Uladzimir Uladzimravich Bely (Belarusian: Уладзімір Уладзіміравіч Белы; Russian: Владимир Владимирович Белый; born on 17 February 1977), is a Belarusian army officer who is currently the commander of the Western Operational Command since March 2023.[1]

Biography

Uladzimir Bely was born in Mikolaevshchyna, Minsk Region on 17 February 1977.[1]

He graduated from the Military Academy of the Belarus with honors in 1991.[1]

In 2011, he entered command and staff faculty of the educational institution "Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus", with honors and a gold medal.[1]

He had been the commander of a motorized rifle platoon, company in the 120th HV MSD.[1]

In the 120th HG AMB SZOK, he was the deputy commander of a separate motorized rifle battalion; deputy chief of staff, chief of the operational group, commander of a mechanized battalion of a separate army, mechanized group, and a commander of a separate guards mechanized battalion.[1]

He had also been the Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, First Deputy Commander of the 19th Army.[1]

He had been the Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the 103rd Military Intelligence Division, and the Commander of the General Staff.[1]

In 2018, he became the head of the faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the educational institution "Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus".[1][2][3]

In recent years, he had been the Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of Special Operations Forces.[1]

In 30 March 2023, Bely was appointed the commander of the Western Operational Command by President Alexander Lukashenko, replacing Igor Demidenko.[4][5][1] He formally took office on 3 April.[6][7]
