Alfredo Núñez is an Assistant Professor in the field of Data-based Maintenance for Railway Infrastructure at Department of Engineering Structures, Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. He received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Chile, Santiago, Chile, in 2010. He was a postdoctoral researcher with the Delft Center for Systems and Control. He is a Senior Member of IEEE since 2014. He is the author/coauthor of over a hundred international journal papers and international conference papers. He is in the Editorial Board of the journals IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Applied Soft Computing. His current research interests include the maintenance of railway infrastructures, intelligent conditioning monitoring in railway systems, computational intelligence, big data, risk analysis, and optimization.
