The cast of voice actors of the anime series Hikari no Densetsu, contained a prolific number of veteran Japanese voice actors, such as Nobuo Tobita, Michie Tomizawa, and Hiromi Tsuru, blended with a number of Japanese actors who were new to the voice actor business that had limited training as voice actors, such as Tsukasa Itou, who is mainly an actress who ended up voicing Hikari in the anime series and singing the opening and ending theme songs for the series. Another noticeable member of the voice-acting cast was Inoue Yoshimasa, who is the voice actor for Mao Natsukawa in the anime series. Yoshimasa made a special appearance in the anime series as Mao since he is primarily a songwriter for anime series such as "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" and "Peter Pan no Bōken". Yoshimasa wrote all the songs, which Natsukawa sings in the anime series, and in Hikari no Densetsu, he makes his only appearance as a Seiyū.

When the series was dubbed in French in 1988, it featured a cast of voice actors similar to the original Japanese voice cast because it featured a number of trained voice actors such as Mark Lesser; who at a young age started dubbing for Walt Disney in such works of animation such as Pinocchio, and The Aristocats, voice actors who were new to the genre such as Fatiha Chriette, who made her only appearance as a voice actress. It also feature voice actors who were mainly singers or song writers such as Jean-Claude Corbel who was the voice actor of Frederic (Mao Natsukawa) when he sang while Gilles Laurent voiced Federic while he spoke.

She is Hikari's mother. She the stereotypical supportive mother who supports Hikari with all her might to point that it is even scary at times. She becomes hyper active and paranoid during her Hikaris competitions. She is quick to get up from her seat and scream in a supportive way for her daughter. And while a bit dramatic while wachting Hikari perform her routines, she is very supportive of her daughter more than any other family member besides her older daughter.

This three characters are the comrades of Mao. They are band members of Mao's band: Mr. D eversinces they were persuade by him to form the band in the first place. They very histerical characters (espicially when they are seen running after Maria which they enjoy a very good friendship with her)that are often used for comic relief in the series). Eventhough they give Maria a lot of attetion, they tend to be very attentive with anything that moves that does not have a Y chromose. They are not womanizers as they may seem, but they like to laugh while having fun. This are some of the characters that do not have a specific clean character development (espcially since they are always seen together and have little lines in their appearances. It has been said by many fans of the anime that They are especially there to recall us how much Mao isolates himself or refuses to make compromises with the others around him.

He is one the several antagonists in the series and this can be understood by seeing him (he is always found wearing dark glasses with an evil smile on his face and near dark places cover slightly by shadows). In the series he tries to convince Mao to sign for a record deal after he sees him perform, but only to take advantage of Mao and the musical act Mr. D. Afterwards he tries to destroy the reputation of Mao's band in other to make money out of it.Eddie represents the coldness of the industry of the disc, and the selfishness of the man who thinks only of the money. He does not hesitate to fake the contest of the young hopes for low reasons marketing. Useless to specify that this point is not without aggravating our artist. Eddie then will make worst lownesses to adapt this so promising singer, not hesitating to ruin the reputation of the group for that.

From this comic strip in 1986 a series animated for the Tatsunoko has been draft omonima. The series counts 19 episodes and has been transmitted also in our country with the title it "Hilary". For greater information it visits the page Spirits.

Here one sinossi of the sixteenth and last small volume of the "Legend of Hikari", comic strip in newspaper stand in Italy for Star Comics beginning from May 2003! The volume sixteenth has been published in Italy from Star Comics in the month of August 2004 (only in the fumetterie - ndr).

The manga was serialized in Japan in the weekly publication Margaret Magazine by Shueisha, with the first installment issued on February 1986. The manga series finnished with in 1988 collected in 16 small volumes. Recently in 2000 the manga series was reissued in Japan, collected in 8 volumes in bound tankōbon form, with less volumes, but with more chapters inside them and larger pages. The manga series was also released in Italy by Edizioni Star Comics, it was titled "La leggenda di Hikari" (which literally means The Legend of Hikari) and collected in 16 small volumes with different slightly altered covers from the original. Edizioni Star Comics re-released the manga series in Italy starting with the first volume released on May 2003 for the price of 3,10 Euro. The manga series was finnished been released in 16 volumes in August 2004. The manga has yet to be released in Germany, France, and Spain, where the TV series was also very popular. Manga is becoming more and more popular in this countries so it could be a possibility that the manga series will be released in this countries in the near future.

She is the grand champion of the world of rhythmic gymnastics from Bulgaria. She is also Hikari's idol (Hikari dreams of becoming like her) who she admires and respects greatly. She has never been beaten and is seemeds as force to be reckond with when it comes to competition, any other major competitor who has competed against has fail to take away the olympic medal from her for the past couple of olympic competitions she has competed in and is seem as an icon in the sport. She incarnates the true spirit of rhythmic gymnastics, with her beauty, grace, elegance, energy, difficulty and complexity of her routines in her performances. And is because of all these reasons why Hikari admires her very much. Hikari dreams of been just like her in terms of beauty, grace, elegance, energy, and performance eventhough she knows that she has a very small chances of ever achieving this. In the series she has a very small, but noticesable role due to her been Hikari's idol. In the series she causes a huge shock when she withdraws from competition at the eleventh hour(which is never explained in in the series!). This fuels Hikari's desire to be like her even more. The former world champion is very surprised by the talent of Cynthia, at the time of this ultimate competition (at one point even offers her to come with her to Bulgaria to train with her).
