I am a police officer in a very nice town, but I used to be a cop in a big nasty city you've surely heard all about. In total, I have more than 19 years of on-the-street experience between the two departments, and I was in the Marine Corps for a few years before that. Cops take a lot of #*%@, but I love my job. I love solving problems and helping people. Even if I'm arresting you, I see that as the first step in getting your life turned around, so I try to do that with dignity and respect when possible, notwithstanding the jerks who scream at me and call me a Nazi fascist doughnut-eating gestapo goon. For the record, I never eat doughnuts.

I have several teenage children and my interests include triathlon competition, weightlifting, aikido, swimming, firearms, constitutional law, and history. I have a BA and MA in history and a JD.
