- An academic, teaching linguistics, with two years' break as a conscript lexicographer.
- A university administrator, responsible for producing student statistics that directly determined the university's state subsidy.
- Various IT roles, ending in a long stint supporting trading systems in merchant banking.
- Amateur musician (bassoon).
Has programmed in Python for 25 years, starting with version 1.5.2. Author of a book on on writing Lua scripts against the Aion API.
