My name is Chris Slaby. I am a historian and art historian and I work primarily at the intersection of Native American and Indigenous Studies and the environmental humanities. I come to Wikipedia with the goal of adding more information and expanding content, especially in the areas noted above. I've used Wikipedia as a website for decades of my life now, but I started this account as part of a 2018 event facilitated by FemTechNet and hosted by the Omohundro Institute to include more content on Wikipedia about women. Various data and studies have shown that women are vastly underrepresented on Wikipedia. This is true of a number of different groups of people and categories of information. My goal as a Wikipedia editor is to add more information in areas that need it and that I have a particular background or expertise in.
