Tobin (surname unknown), played by Jason Douglas, is a fictional character from the The Walking Dead (TV series). He first appears in Season 5 Episode13 ('Forget').
Unlike many original Alexandrians, Tobin has remained alive thus far. He is a good friend of main protagonist Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and has a short-lived relationship with minor protagonist Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride).
Tobin is a tall, handsome, middle-aged man who displays a perfect mix of sensitivity and good nature.
Tobin's screen appearances are sporadic and brief (outlined below).
Despite his seeming unimportance to the development of the plot, Tobin is symbolically significant to the series and especially relevant in the post 9/11 world. He is a metaphor for the compassion and ordinariness of a quiet humanity in a world where the main players are continually engaged in violent battles for survival and dominance.

Being the head of Alexandria's construction crew, they are attacked by walkers. In this scene, Tobin makes the decision to leave Francine to die.

Tobin attempts making a move on Rick while he is threatening Alexandrians with a gun. Rick points the gun at Tobin, and Tobin backs away.
S05E16 'Conquer'
Rick walks past Tobin on the street and they greet each other in respect.
S06E01 'First Time Again'
Tobin is digging graves with Father Gabriel, for Pete and Reg.
S06E05 'Now'
Tobin calls out to Deanna while she is walking away from the group.
S06E07 'Heads Up!'
Tobin helps Rick build up the wall, and they exchange brief words of wisdom.

Tobin runs away from walkers.

Tobin kills walkers.

Tobin shows his sensitive side to Carol. Shortly after, Carol kisses Tobin.

Tobin kisses Carol on their front porch. Tobin discovers a note from Carol explaining why she ran away.

Tobin sits in the chapel while Rick explains that Negan is in charge now.

Tobin watches in awe as Spencer and Olivia are horrifically killed.
