From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia is divided into two groups; established and non-established editors, with the former generally having more clout than the latter.

Established and non-established editors

[edit]

An established editor is an editor who has been on Wikipedia for at least 90 days; they have made close to or more than 10,000 edits and have created a minimum of one article. All Wikipedia administrators are established editors, as they should meet the above criteria before being promoted to admin status. This group of editors are expected to be experienced pros, who know the ins and outs of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Non-established editors on the other hand, are those who have not yet established themselves in the community, this group may include editors who a) Have been on Wikipedia for too short a time to become established, b) Have been on Wikipedia for a considerable amount of time but failed to be active enough to be recognized
