Cost Efficiency
[edit]Living arrangements at Kings Island for employees are two or four people, and it only costs $65 a week, which is very reasonable. [1] The dorms come with a bathroom, microwave, fridge, etc. [2] Kings Islands Human Resources says that they had been predicting to house 400+ employees 2020.[3] But for the safety of the employees, employees must be 18 years or older to apply to live in the dorms. The dorms come with 24/7 security and are very high-tech. For example, they have security cameras everywhere and easy ways to contact people if a person is in trouble. [4]
Benefits of Dorm Life
[edit]There is a shuttle, that takes employees to and from the dorms to the park. There are a lot of amenities to living in the dorms, and people in the dorms can make new friends. Some of the dorms feature amenities which are basketball and soccer courts.[5] When employees get a dorm they get free Wi-Fi, and there is a convenience store on site. Employees also get access to the community kitchen to cook food and store nonperishables.[6] Employees also get benefits in the park. The employees have free access to any Cedar Fair Park. In addition, employees get significantly discounted food and merchandise. [7]
Safety
[edit]Kings Islands dorms have upgraded security. Now they have 24/7 security which ensures that the staff is as safe as possible.[8] They have proven their integrity about safety through the security that Kings island has. Kings Island has a lot of rules and items that aren't allowed in the park. Kings Island has metal detectors before guests and employees enter the park for everyone's safety. [9] For example, on the first day of the park opening in 2023, the security caught someone with a gun which is prohibited, outside the park before they had even tried to enter. [10] Kings Island updated there policies in 2023. they now state that you have to have an adult with you that is 21 or older if you are under the age of 15. This rule starts at 4 p.m. for the 2023 season and going forward. [11]
