Pocket Card Jocky is a strategy video game with gameplay which is a mix of solitaire and horse racing, developed by Game Freak and published by Game Freak in Japan and by Nintendo worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS. The game was released in Japan on July 31, 2013, and was released worldwide on May 05, 2016.[1]
Gameplay
[edit]The player plays as a jockey. The main objective of the game is to win horse races. Horse races have three phases. During the first and second phases the player plays a version of solitaire.

Pocket Card Jockey received an aggregated review score of 83 on Metacritic, indicating "generally favorable reviews". CJ Andriessen of Destructoid gave a glowing review, praising the game's presentation, its writing, calling it "genuinely hilarious", and the game's luck, saying that the most fun he had in the game was when an unexpected event happened. He compared his experience with the game to how Tetris was received, wanting the game to be as popular as Tetris.[1] Nintendo Life's Thomas Whitehead gave a positive review, praising the game's presentation and calling the game addictive, though criticizing the game's balancing and luck, comparing the game's design to that of free-to-play mobile games.[3]
