I come from Alimodian, a small, hilly town 26 kilometers from Iloilo City, Panay Island in the middle of the Philippines. I speak Kinaray-a, Hiligaynon, Tagalog, and English. Being Bisayan, I am sesquilingual in (and thus can understand but not speak) Aklanon, Cebuano, and Waray. My interests are in Philippine Languages and literatures. I am currently studying Ilocano. I am also looking for a sponsor for my Master's Degree in Linguistics either here in the Philippines or abroad. If you are THE sponsor I have been waiting for, YOU ARE VERY MUCH WELCOME TO CONTACT ME.
I discovered Wikipedia in 2006, and my first edit (contribution) was in 20 November of that year. As of now, my contributions to Wiki are sporadic and limited to Philippine-related articles only, as are my articles and contributions in other web fora and sites. I have been thinking of contributing some more to Bisayan languages in the Philippines articles but still have not done so.
I took up B.A. Broadcast Communication in the University of the Philippines - Visayas and graduated in October 2003. Since, I have participated in several local and national creative writing workshops, such as the Faigao Cebu Regional Writers Workshop, Iligan National Writers Workshop, and Fray Luis de Leon Creative Writing Workshop, as well as volunteered in one of the largest non-government organizations in the Philippines, the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines.
