The Manchester Bach ChoirBach Choir (disambiguation) was founded in 1932 by its first conductor was Mr Hamilton Harris.

Over the past 79 years the choir has moved around the Manchester area and is now based in Stockport. St Mary's Church, the oldest parish church in Stockport, is its main base for performances and the Rector of St Mary's, Rev. Roger Scoones, is the choir's President.

The Manchester Bach Choir is a registered charity no: 1096957.

The choir despite its name performs a wide variety of music. Past Concerts have include: 27 June 2009 Taking the Mikado: An Evening of Gilbert and Sullivan 28 March 2009 F. Musical Directors The current Musical Director is Jim Cooke. Jim Cooke was born in Sheffield. He began conducting in 1978 whilst at college in Liverpool by rehearsing the wind band, later forming a student orchestra to perform concerts of light music.

Jim has sung bass in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir since 1988, and has directed the Ormskirk Music Society (choir & orchestra) since 1992, the Crosby Capriol Singers from 2003 to 2009 and Parbold Chamber Choir since 2007.

As a composer he has two commercial CDs: Concert Jig on Dutton Laboratories' British Light Music Premieres Volume 4, and When it's Christmas Time Once More on the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic's Spirit of Christmas album.
