Paulding County High School is public high school located in Dallas, Georgia that opened in the winter of 1969.
Departments

[edit]Outside of the normal classes taught at a high school, Paulding County offers several honors and AP classes. The honors classes include 9th grade literature/compostion, British literature, Algebra II, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography. The AP classes that are offered are English literature, Spanish, Calculus, Biology, World History, and Macroeconomics. Through these classes and the rest of the education at PCHS, the school was recognized as a Georgia School of Excellence in 2003.
Juniors and seniors for the 2010-2011 school year will be able to participate in a program called Move On When Ready that allows then to take courses at postsecondary institution full-time during their junior and/or senior year and receive high school credit and college credit simultaneously. [2]

Fine & Performing Arts
[edit]- Band-The Pride of Paulding started in ????. The Pride of Paulding Band Director from 19??-1981 was Tommy Hawkins. Dr. Ronnie Davis came on board as Assistant Band Director in 1980 or 1981. Dr. Ronnie Davis assumed directorship of the program in 1981 or 1982 & remained director until 1999 when he became the director of the Band of Gold at Hiram High School. Dr. Ronnie Davis retired from Hiram High School in 2011. He passed away December 2, 2014. Debbie Milam was the assistant director from 1976-80. Paige King was the assistant director from ???? until 1999 when she became director for the 1999-2000 season. She also served as the guard instructor from ???? until the 1999-2000. After her departure, Larry Greenwalt became director for the 2001-2002 and remained until ????. Chad Paetznick became the drum instructor in ????, assist from 1999 to 2005, when he became the director of St. Pius X High School. Teri Young became the current director in ????. Kelly Whitfield has serve as the guard instructor since 2014.
- Chorus-The Paulding County High School Chorus since 1996 has been directed by Ginger Corley, who is a graduate of PCHS. [3]

Alumni
[edit]- Ray Traylor (May 2, 1963 – September 22, 2004), American professional wrestler. He was best known for his appearances with World Wrestling Entertainment under the ring name Big Boss Man (sometimes spelled Big Bossman)
- Nathan Bennett-former guard for the University of Clemson and current guard for the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League
