Girardville

Dincher, I have noticed that the Girardville page is always being reverted back. Why not allow someone to add information about Girardville??? It is known through the coal region for it's restraunts. Great Swamp

Hi Dincher, I was wondering if, given your knowledge and experience in geography articles, you could give me some suggestions about the Great Swamp (New York) that I'm working on in my sandbox. There is a list of National Natural Landmarks in Pennsylvania here. The state forest articles seem like the place for short sections on Natural Areas. You know, I remember you nominating Selinsgrove Speedway, sorry it didn't make it. The Cherry Springs article is great and is by Tim Morey (of the Leonard Harrison / Colton Point Spotlight article fame) so I think it is reliable, we just need to find where it was originally published and can link the online version. I also have two recent newspaper articles on the Lumberjack festival there. Guess it can be a FA too. Actually the information on Route 44 in the online source you found is great for Upper Pine Bottom history too. I was planning on getting Sonestown Covered Bridge to FA next - the covered bridge FL attempt has to wait until I get at least a start article and picture for Knapps Covered Bridge in Bradford County. I have the DYK hook for it too - it is the highest covered bridge above the water in Pennsylvania. I have also been thinking of working on some GAs too - Lairdsville Covered Bridge (have a DYK hook for that too - the county had it repaired by prisoners to save money) and Hyner View State Park. My thought was that if there were articles that had little or no chance of becoming FA, they could be GA. Of the 21 Must See parks, Cherry Springs State Park and Hyner View State Park seem like they would be hardest to get to FA. If there is a notable reference in fiction then I have seen it listed in the article for a town - Scranton has a section on The Office (US TV series), which is set there. I think the problem with adding Jethro to the article on Stillwater is a lack of a reference. Until there is a ref, keep it out. If there is a ref, add it briefly. S. B. Elliott

I added three images to the S. B. Elliott State Park article and have a total of 14 images for it on Commons. Feel free to swap out images if you like others better. There are two NRHP historic districts within the park and their forms have some info that could be added. The DCNR page also seems to have more history than I recalled seeing before on the park. The April Fools DYK rules are relaxed - the article just has to be expanded 5x in the past year. I figure a log cabin tool shed and a stone latrine on the NRHP are DYK worthy. I've been paying close attention to my Google Alerts, and there have been so many great storylines on this year's team: Rubin, Josh Gaines, Gerald Cadogan, Ollie Ogbu. I've been incorporating them into the existing articles whenever possible, and creating new articles for those who don't have them. Armstrong Twp

I agree that a scanning error in Meginness seems likely. Duboistown (1878) and South Williamsport (1896) were both boroughs by the 1890 census. I removed it because it was his nfl.com stat page, which is already located in the infobox. Secondly, I removed it to make his birth and death dates how they are suppose to be (without places), which i thought was one of the reasons for the reference. If you believe that I am wrong, please dont revert, but just readd that particular part of the article while keeping the rest of my edits the same. You just did way more edits than you said you would. Please change the birth date and death date thing after the name to its correct fashion ([[birth date]], [[birth year]] – [[Death date]], [[death year]]) without locations. Plus, the death location is even outside the ), it just plain doesnt look good. If you feel an incredible urge to show where he was born (which i think is unneeded) then maybe put it in the infobox. I could use it in place of Image:Covered Bridge over Muncy Creek.JPG, and then perhaps switch to a different picture of the east portal than this one. The only other photo of the east portal I have is this, which would have to be rotated a bit. If they decorate and light it for Christmas, I would love to get some pictures of that. The problem is the muddy water pic is the only proof I have of the work done on the creek in August 2006 - there were pieces of big construction equipment upstream of the bridge, but I did not photgraph them. Potter County maps

I saw your question on Commons and replied there, but I am also a little confused. I changed all of the maps except for the one that showed East Fork itself. However, when I looked at the county map here, I still saw the old version. When I clicked on the map itself, I saw the new version (without East Fork). Van Buren State Park

Nice job on the article. How about DYK ... that Van Buren State Park in Ohio has family, large group, and equestrian camping areas, the latter with manure bins and picket lines? That seems like one of the most unique things about the park from the article. I also know that the Van Buren High School football stadium is next to the park and if you are camping there on a Friday night in the fall, you can walk over and get a hot dog. ;-) Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 23:54, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
