Glenn Gutmacher is one of the pioneers of online talent sourcing, the beginning stage of the recruiting process to identify and engage people who would not otherwise apply for a job opening. While a few other organizations had started teaching "internet recruiting" (as it was known at the time) in the late 1990s in a corporate or classroom setting, he created the world's first self-paced sourcing course available completely online in 1998 while working at Community Newspaper Company and published to its own dedicated domain, www.recruiting-online.com, in 1999.
