Chicago
[edit]
- Add {{WikiProject Chicago|class|importance}} to talk pages for WikiProject Chicago.
- Fetch pages/categories from WP:CHIBOTCATS, do not tag within subcats of any cat because you many are not really part of the project.
- Auto-sort
- I'm working on it, but it will take a while. I'll keep you updated. Hazard-SJ ㋡ 04:49, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- I have done a number of them, but I have a bug in the code that I need to get fixed. The bot keeps stopping with an error. Hazard-SJ ✈ 06:08, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- It seems the error is OS dependent. I can continue this now. Hazard-SJ ✈ 03:14, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- Still doing. Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:12, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- I have to question the validity of indiscriminately adding Blackhawks hockey players to WP:Chicago? TerminalPreppie (talk) 14:24, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- What is your problem where that is concerned? It is, however, called the Chicago Blackhawks, and the category is Chicago Blackhawks players. Combined, this is a task being done for the Chicago WikiProject, so I don't see a problem there. Hazard-SJ ✈ 23:13, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- The vast majority of sportspeople are transient to the cities they played in. I randomly picked someone within the category: Wally Boyer...played 42 games as a Blackhawk. While obviously there are iconic players that are of major cultural significance to Chicago, most just worked there briefly and then went along their way. Coming from a WP:HOCKEY perspective, I really dont care, you're just lighting up my watchlist. However, I would think its a disservice to WP:CHICAGO by adding all these articles of little value to it. This applies to the other sports team's players I assume your bot is grabbing too. TerminalPreppie (talk) 01:42, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- I concur. For example, Thierry Zahui only played for Chicago Fire Reserves for one year – doesn't really belong to WikiProject Chicago... Cheers. – Kosm1fent 12:41, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Well if they don't really belong to the WikiProject, I believe they should be removed from Wikipedia:WikiProject Chicago/Bot Category List to avoid the "confusion". I will notify the task requester, and attempt to skip all sports team categories until this is resolved. Hazard-SJ ✈ 00:56, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- As the director of WP:CHICAGO, I would prefer if you include all sports teams. A large portion of our articles are athletes. If there is a good reason to try to keep WP:CHICAGO from monitoring players like Thierry Zahui, you can block us on a case by case basis, but generally the more people watching a page the better.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:25, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Hungary/Sports and games task force
[edit]
- Add {{WikiProject Hungary|class=|importance=|sports=yes}} to talk pages for WikiProject Hungary/Sports and games task force.
- Fetch pages from Category:Sport in Hungary
- Auto-sort
Hello, you want only the immediate sub-categories done, right? Hazard-SJ ✈ 04:03, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi! Sorry for the late answer, but I wasn't around for a while. If you are still available for tagging, then I would like to ask to go as deep as the Category:Hungarian sportspeople, since probably this is the most populous category and this would be very tedious to tag manually. Thank you, Thehoboclown (talk) 15:30, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, Category:Expatriate footballers in Hungary was (incorrectly) a subcat of Category:Hungarian footballers, which means that ~ 576 article about non-hungarians has gotten a talk-page banner that is unneccessary. Could the bot remove those? Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 10:12, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Thailand
[edit]
- Add {{WikiProject Thailand}} to talk pages for WikiProject Thailand.
- Fetch pages/categories from All members of the categories listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand/List of categories (with the exception of Korean War, Vietnam War, World War I and World War II, if possible)
- Auto-sort
- Project notified at WT:WikiProject Thailand#Project tagger run. The list is separated into biographical and non-biographical categories. If possible and efficient to do so in a single run, articles in the biographical categories should also be tagged with {{WikiProject Biography}}, with living=yes applied to articles which are also members of Category:Living persons. Otherwise, just tagging for Thailand would be fine. As a side note, I originally requested AnomieBOT to do this, but the bot ran into some mysterious errors and it couldn't complete the task. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:16, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and done the tagging manually, so this can be closed now. Thanks for taking the time. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:55, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Defunct Airlines
[edit]
- Add {{WPAVIATION|defunct=yes}} to talk pages for WikiProject Defunct Airlines.
- Fetch pages from Category:Defunct Airlines task force articles
- Auto-sort
Remove the parameters |defunct-project=
and |Defunct-Airlines-project=
from the template. The former project has been converted to a task force, see this. —Compdude123 01:30, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
You know, I asked you to do this three months ago and you still haven't even started. What's taking so long? You were the second person I asked to do this; at the time I asked Anomie to have his bot do this, he was too busy so I asked you. I really would appreciate it if you started on this sooner rather than later. Thanks a lot, Compdude123 21:59, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- Question: Any criteria for the removal of the parameters? Hazard-SJ ✈ 03:14, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't see your question till now.
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, could you please explain better?Edit: I did specify which parameters I wanted to be removed in my original request, so what is this "criteria" you want? —Compdude123 02:28, 26 January 2013 (UTC)- Sorry if I sound impatient, but I asked you this question two months ago and you still haven't answered...and you've been editing on WP during this time. So, what is this "criteria for removing parameters" that you request of me? I don't really understand what you are asking, especially considering the fact that I already specified the criteria above. Please respond ASAP. Thanks, Compdude123 03:34, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I mean, for example, if I should remove them no matter what the parameter is, or only if it has/doesn't have a certain values (or one of certain values). Hazard-SJ ✈ 02:32, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, so here's specifically what I'd like. If the parameters
|defunct-project=
or|Defunct-Airlines-project=
are present in the template on a talk page, they should be removed and replaced with the parameter|defunct=yes
. Got it? —Compdude123 16:39, 9 April 2013 (UTC)- I know you have a life outside of WP (at least I hope you do ), but I didn't expect you to not have even started on my request nine months after I originally requested this to be done. If you don't have time to work on this, I can ask for another bot to do this. Do you want me to do that, or are you committed to following thru with this? —Compdude123 18:05, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Doing... sorry for the delay. Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:39, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- Strangely, it ran without errors and there seems to have been no edits. Either this was already done or there is a logical error in the program. I'd appreciate if you could help me with a few checks to verify it is no longer in use. If that's the case (it seems all the pages were already tagged with the banner), I'll write a script just for removal of the parameters (I integrated it into the code I ran, but as I said, no results were yielded. Hazard-SJ ✈ 02:44, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- That's really weird. I wouldn't be surprised if all pages had the banner, but I am surprised that there were no pages whatsoever that used the parameters
|defunct-project=
or|Defunct-Airlines-project=
. I'll try and check to see if none of those tags are used. Do you know of something on Toolserver that might tell you what parmeters are used with a certain template? —Compdude123 05:01, 21 May 2013 (UTC)- No, unfortunately I know of no such tool. Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:36, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I just started going thru the category and it wasn't that hard to find articles that had a project banner with the parameter
|Defunct-Airlines-project=yes
. I just barely scratched the surface and I was already finding lots of talk page banners with that parameter. I converted this project to a task force last August, and I don't want to still have parameters that say "Defunct Airlines Project" on talk pages so you need to tell the bot to change those parameters to just say|defunct=yes
. —Compdude123 22:00, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Puerto Rico
[edit]
- Add {{WikiProject Puerto Rico}} to talk pages for WikiProject Puerto Rico.
- Fetch pages from Category:Puerto Rico
- Auto-sort
We also need the bot to tag files related to Puerto Rico. We have many articles that include images but these images are neither tagged nor categorized so they get deleted without the Project being notified. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 00:34, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- Fulfilling this request would be greatly appreciated...So far we had been doing this manually, and its very time consuming. Thanks in advance! Mercy11 (talk) 01:34, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Request continuous monitoring and adding WikiProject Lakes banner to all articles that appear in Lakes by Country category and subpages
[edit]
- Add {{WikiProject Lakes}} to talk pages for WikiProject Lakes.
- Fetch pages from Category:Lakes by country
- Recurse
- Auto-sort
- Cancel Request apparently the category structure with recursion would add articles out of scope of WP Lakes. The automated tagging probably needs an explicit list of categories to track instead of relying on recursive approach or a way to exclude recursion or inclusion for certain categories.
