My name is JD, and I used to live in Philadelphia, PA, USA, thus the username JDphiladelphia.

I'm told I'm a very resourceful person, and I enjoy connecting people with helpful information or simply connecting people with other people. I've admired the concept of Wikipedia since I first found out about it over 20 years ago... the people's encyclopedia, created for regular people by regular people. I wish I had gotten involved sooner. I'm still learning & have a personal satisfaction in helping to maintain the world's largest encyclopedia.

I am a former English major & used to be Editor-n-Chief of my college newspaper. Consequently, most of my edits are of the spelling or grammar type and try to stick to Wikipedia's Manual of Style, since I don't have a lot of time to write (it's very time-consuming, especially on this platform), although I truly love to write. I also love to organize, so I may occasionally help beautify an article to help it read smoother for the reader. I try to add content and weight to articles when I think they need it. I rarely look to create pages from scratch, but will do my part if I see a non-existent link for subjects that are worthy per Wikipedia's guidelines.

My Wiki interests run the spectrum from History, Bible, Music, Computers, to Film & Movies, to name a few.

Film/Movies

Two of my favorite movies are The Net and The Matrix (the original; I'm not as big of a fan of the sequels).

100th Edit

On October 26, 2022, at 9:00 pm EST, I made my 100th edit on Wikipedia 🥳 — I've also drafted my first article which will hopefully soon be my first published article 🙏🏽
