I am a San Francisco-based editorial and media consultant with a background both in reporting and in print- and digital media management. I began my career as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, from 1980 to 1988, and later had general management roles at various organizations including Time Inc., London's Financial Times and Yahoo Inc. A big focus of my work today is helping news providers cope with continuing disruption and keeping up with changing audience needs. I currently am editorial director at Repustar, which is developing new tools to help consumers deal with misinformation.

I also advise other digital and e-commerce firms on business strategy, communications and digital platform development efforts. Clients have included The Roger Thomas Collection, a licensing and marketing service for a noted interior designer who is the former head of design and development for Wynn Resorts.
