Ayane said she wanted audiences to be free to interpret her lyrics.[1] Until around 2017, most of the Ayane's songwriting was lyrics-first, but she adopted music-first approach for some songs on METROPOLIS released on 2018.[2][3] Around the same time, the songwriter, who had composed with acoustic guitars, started to compose with GarageBand to avoid her habits of composing.[3] The singer stated that her English pronunciation, which would never sound like a native speaker, could even be an advantage in the music world.[4]

Ayane's favoriate artist is Maki Nomiya[5] as well as Taeko Onuki, the original artist of ‘Mahou o Oshiete’, which she coverd in 2020.[6] She recalls that it was her teens when she inspired by Bill Evans and came to write songs with fewer notes.[7] This self-taught guitarist hopes would Shintaro Sakamoto of Yura Yura Teikoku teach her.[1] She is also a fun of idol groups from Johnny's Entertainment such as Kanjani Eight and V6.[8] However, she is inspired more by Haruki Murakami than music.
