Eventually I would like this to be a full-fledged Wikiproject, similar to Keilana's Wikipedia:WikiProject Women scientists, but for now I'm going to start this off in user space.

Wikipedia has significant systemic bias; around 90% of our contributors are men. In a similar vein, philosophy as a field has significant systemic bias - women philosophers are less likely to be cited/written about/hold named professorships etc than their male compatriots are, even when they've made equally significant contributions to their field. Unfortunately, the bias of Wikipedia compounds the bias already found in philosophy. As a result, our coverage of women philosophers is horrible. Until recently, there wasn't even an article about Alison Jaggar, a philosopher who taught the first feminist philosophy class ever. I know we can't (at least in a reasonable amount of time) correct this imbalance, but I do think we can at least mitigate it. Until I lauch this as a fully-fledged Wikiproject, I'm going to use this as a space to collect the names of likely notable but not currently covered women philosophers. In my to-do table, I'll indicate why I think they are likely notable (although I may not do so instantly.)

Please feel free to edit this table by adding more people, adding more sources, etc. If you don't think someone is notable, please leave a note with a reason why, but please don't outright delete their entry. This is definitely not an all-inclusive list, I could list fifty more notable women philosophers just off the top of my head. I'll be expanding the list as time goes by, but welcome others to expand it, too.

And, of course, if you have the time - please, write about one of these women!
