Sarah Leibner
[edit]Sarah Leibner (born July 7, 1989) is a second year graduate student in the Human Factors Psychology program at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
Background
[edit]Early life
[edit]Sarah was born and raised in Stockton, California, an area which became familiar to Americans in the 1940s as the setting for many of John Steinbeck's classic novels.
Military Career
[edit]She enlisted in the U.S. Army as a PV2 in October 2007. Following basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, and AIT (Advance Individual Training) at Redstone Aresenal, AL, Eglin AFB, FL, and Ft. Huachuca, AZ, she was stationed at Ft. Belvoire, VA. She was discharged from active duty as an E-5 in October, 2011. In November 2012, Sarah reenlisted in the USAR, and is still currently serving as a warrant officer in the USAR, with ten years' experience as a GEOINT analyst.
Academic Career
[edit]Sarah earned her B.S. in Psychology from Old Dominion University in 2016. She is currently earning her PhD in Human Factors Psychology, with an anticipated award date of 2020. Her lab focuses on humans' interface with automation, in military as well as civilian applications. Her research interests are in military applications, particularly the ISR domain, although she also has many research interests in social and cognitive psychology. She is currently a Wikipedia student editor as part of her Advanced Social Psychology Course at ODU.
