Why Is Providing Career Development Important?

Providing career development is important because it creates value, loyalty, and low turnover. Many employees are looking for growth in knowledge and skills more so than compensation, although this is a huge influence, employees want to know they are staying up to date on what there is to know in their area of study. By providing career development opportunities companies create greater internal resources for themselves. For example, by sending one employee out to get a certification or take a particular training you just created a body of knowledge that can be brought back and shared with other employees.
