Bibliography
[edit]- Schneeweiss, Gerald (December, 2023). [Molecular phylogenetic analyses identify Alpine differentiation and dysploid chromosome number changes as major forces for the evolution of the European endemic Phyteuma (Campanulaceae) "Molecular phylogenetic analyses identify Alpine differentiation and dysploid chromosome number changes as major forces for the evolution of the European endemic Phyteuma (Campanulaceae)"]. Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution. 69 (3): 634–652 – via Elsevier Science Direct.[1]
- This publication includes information on the evolutionary path of Phyteuma, specifically linking Phyteuma with Physoplexis. A sub-section can be written connecting the two, increasing the notability of this particular wiki page. This source is from a scientific journal, so it should be reliable.
- Boerrigter, Elisabeth (1995). On the perspectives of populations of the rare plant species Phyteuma nigrum. University of Groningen.[2]
- This summary looks into the reasons behind population decline and rarity of the P. nigrum plant. Information taken from this source, including threats and consequences of population size, can be helpful in looking at population statistics and in which direction the species is headed now in terms of numbers. This source is from a university thesis paper, so it should be reliable.
- Andel, J. Van (June, 1988). "The performance of progeny groups from two populations of Phyteuma nigrum, with particular reference to the chance of survival or extinction"] (PDF). Acta Botanica Neerlandica. 37 (2): 165–169.[3]
- This journal article includes information on seed populations and regeneration for members of Phyteuma. This opens up opportunities to continue to speak on the population of Phyteuma nigrum and connect this with other points, as well as connecting with other plant species. This is a published scientific journal entry, so it should be reliable.
- Kolb, Annette (August 31, 2005). "Reduced reproductive success and offspring survival in fragmented populations of the forest herb Phyteuma spicatum". Journal of Ecology. 93 (6): 1226–1237 – via British Ecological Society.[4]
- The is a scientific journal entry also explaining offspring survival and pollination success within Phyteuma. This source connects well with other sources, giving the article a more comprehensive reading experience, and allows for more depth in certain sections. This is a scientific journal entry, so it should be reliable.
- CABI (November 21, 2019). "Phyteuma nigrum". CABI Digital Library.[5]
- This source is a good place to find basic information on taxonomy, location, identity, and certain photos or visuals that can make the article more appealing. This site reportedly has peer-reviewed information and is a database supported by respected editorial boards, so it should be reliable.
- Alm, Torbjorn (2000). "Krigsspredte arter i Sør-Varanger, Finnmark: vadderot Phyteuma spicatum og svartvadderot P. nigrum " (PDF). Norges Botaniske Annaler. 58: 46–54 – via Blyttia.[6]
- This journal article's summary (translated from Norwegian) includes some information on the recent history of new Phyteuma (P) nigrum spread in Norway. This information will be a good addition to a "History" section of the plant. This source is from a scientific journal, so it should be reliable.

Outline of proposed changes
[edit]In the improving of the Phyteuma nigrum article, I hope to include more information specifically looking into the history of P. nigrum, both recently and evolutionarily. Connecting this article with other Wikipedia articles on plants closely related can hopefully boost the relevance of the article as well.
The original article includes only physical characteristics with very little sourcing to other Wikipedia articles. There is also only one image to accompany the text. With my compiled sources I hope to expand the contents beyond just physical description and write more on the history and relations of the P. nigrum. More pictures from different angles and life stages will help in the recognition of the plant.
There are several areas in the preexisting article that have space for included links to other articles, so inserting those will also increase the notability of the page.
Now that you have compiled a bibliography, it's time to plan out how you'll improve your assigned article.
In this section, write up a concise outline of how the sources you've identified will add relevant information to your chosen article. Be sure to discuss what content gap your additions tackle and how these additions will improve the article's quality. Consider other changes you'll make to the article, including possible deletions of irrelevant, outdated, or incorrect information, restructuring of the article to improve its readability or any other change you plan on making. This is your chance to really think about how your proposed additions will improve your chosen article and to vet your sources even further. Note: This is not a draft. This is an outline/plan where you can think about how the sources you've identified will fill in a content gap. |
