Dov3 is an American R&B/Hip Hop Duo originating from Atlanta, Georgia, formed by singer Darius "THD" Tucker (born July 24th, 1997) and rapper Jovon "IceCream" Jones (born January 7th, 2001). In 2020, they released their first single, "Drinks on Me" that reached over a million streams. In 2021, they were invited to perform at Exchange Miami for the Loud Pack Concert during Rolling Loud Weekend. During that same year, they released their debut project, "Toxic" in May 2021 under the Unitedmasters Distribution, it eventually gained over 200,000 Streams independently landing them a partnership deal with Connect Music in early 2022. Dov3 has been nominated for three awards in 2022 for the Jettys Awards showcased in South Carolina, these awards included Single of the Year for "Drinks On Me" as well as Mixtape of The Year for "Toxic". The duo is best known for their singles "1942" and "Get Throwed" that both landed in the Top 40 on the Industry Certified Billboard Charts.

Biography

Music beginnings

Dov3 started in January 2020, the duo originally started out as a group consisting of five members including singer/songwriter Jai B. as the group's main vocalist at the time. Before forming Dov3, THD was a part of a collective by the name of Keyvision orchestrated by singer/producer Claudius "CSquared" Craig II, known for singles such as "I'll Be There" and "Vacation" alongside the likes of singer-songwriter Tre 3:18. After disbanding, THD decided to go solo and focus on his craft behind the scenes, while also finishing up his degree at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia.

Before meeting, IceCream formed a collective by the name of We Don't Sell Drugs (WD$D) in late 2018, while attending Forest Park High School his senior year in Forest Park, Georgia alongside the likes of Chicocurlyhead, Rayy Blank, GapGod and producer Chicano Blues.

THD and IceCream met once IceCream enrolled at Fort Valley State University in the fall of 2019 when IceCream joined the marching band as a freshman on a full ride scholarship to the university, THD was section leader of the percussion section, while IceCream played trumpet. THD and IceCream eventually joined forces and began to create at THD's house off campus from the school and created independent label "Changing Of the Game Entertainment" founded by Eddie "Ikon E." Jones III, IceCream's father. 

2020-2021: Early Success & Toxic

In May 2020, Dov3 released their debut single "Drinks On Me" using the Unitedmasters music platform for distribution. Gaining momentum and a decent fanbase, the single eventually garnered over a million streams on the Soundcloud platform. After receiving the success, Dov3 went onto release singles such as "Game Leaf" with the help of Atlanta producer 404Kenn, and "Overdose" produced by Tony Sway with THD reuniting with Tre 3:18 who is also a frequent collaborator of the duo. Dov3 started to work on their debut project, "Toxic" alongside upcoming rapper Logikall who is featured on five of the 13 tracks on the projects. Toxic was released on May 19th, 2021, under the Unitedmasters imprint. The summer of 2021 came with many opportunities for Dov3 including being invited to Miami, Florida for the Rolling Loud experience, as well as doing Atlanta Hip Hop Day and participating in BET Hip Hop Awards experience in October 2021. Toxic has garnered over 200,000 streams and has been favorably reviewed by critics and fans.

2022-present: 1942, Grammys and more

After the independent success of Toxic, Dov3 started to grow tremendously and after releasing their lead single, "1942" off their upcoming album, "RSVP: Invitation Only" releasing in October of this year, they were invited to Las Vegas, Nevada to perform at the Grammy Awards experience at MGM Grand, and also landed their first partnership deal with Connect Music in April of this year, releasing smash hit "Get Throwed", that was charted alongside "1942" on the Industry Certified Charts. After inking the deal, Dov3 signed artists such as Logikall, King Kuntree, Tre 3:18, Nate3x, amongst others. In July, Dov3 did an interview for Outlaw 97.7 FM in Ontario, Canada, as well as, an interview for WCCG 104.5 FM in Fayetteville, NC.

Personal lives

THD was born in Atlanta. IceCream was born in Lillington, NC and was raised in Clayton County, GA. IceCream is related to Detroit Lions nose tackle Alim McNeill and recording engineer Hollywood Swizz (1994-2021). Both artists grew up in church and raised on music with THD playing the drums at the age of 2 and IceCream participating in the youth choir.
